Like several times before, there was just one single bitch puppy in my sixth Lappie litter, and I did not even consider selling her. Mette lived in Haukipudas with her flatmate Minea. Mette was linebred to Orso-Farm Gatna, an excellent producer, who also is the dam of my late Hertta. Mette turned out to be quite a beauty - in the puppy class she took a couple of BP wins and "adult" classes had a really good start as by the age of one and a half years Mette already had two CCs to her credit. She finished her Finnish Champion title in style going BOB & Group-3, and took her Swedish title a couple of weeks later at the Swedish Lapphund Club's specialty where she went BOB and Runner-up to BIS under breed specialist Ambjörn Lindqvist. Two weeks later, Mette gained her Norwegian and Nordic championships by going BOS at an international show in Trondheim. One of her proudest moments in the show ring took place at the Finnish Winner 2010 show where she went Best Bitch & BOS out of an entry of 77 Finnish Lapphunds, again under breed specialist Ambjörn Lindqvist. Another fantastic win was the BOB she took at Seinäjoki Int'l 2011 under another breed specialist Saara Sampakoski out of 53 Lappies. Mette gained her International Champion title at the Black Sea Winner 2011 show cluster, where she also took a myriad of champion titles from various countries. As for her temperament, Mette was a very outgoing and happy lady. Mette was health tested in October '09 and unfortunately her hip score turned out to be poor (D/D on a scale from A to E), so I decided to exclude her from my breeding programme. The ownership was signed over to Kirsi and Mette was duly spayed. Early 2020, Mette got pieces of meaty bone stuck in her oesophagus and as the prognosis was not very good, she sadly had to be put down. Thank you Kirsi for everything! >> Photo gallery >> Mette in KoiraNet |
