When I learned that Lumivaara, a wolf sable bitch that originates from the reindeer herding dogs of the Nenets tribe and that was registered as a Finnish Lapphund in early 2023, was going to be mated, I immediately expressed my interest in acquiring one of the pups. As the dam brings in entirely new blood and the paternal grandsire Rölli descends from unregistered reindeer herding stock of Lapland, this pedigree should contribute to the gene pool in terms of much-needed genetic variation. And naturally I do not mind Vekku appearing in the pedigree! There weren't enough bitch puppies for me to have one, so a dog puppy it was. I asked Taru Vallius (Tarutuulten) whether she would like to become a co-owner and she did indeed. Through her contacts we found an excellent home for the puppy here in Oulu. While right now Ippo is just enjoying being a puppy, he will be seen out and about later on. A big thank you to Taru, Salla and Jarno for making this venture happen!
