I had always admired Papu's dam Varpu for her sound construction and free-striding movement (with the added bonus of her being a Nuuk daughter!), and when she was bred to the handsome Tio, Tapio suggested we get a male puppy from that breeding. However, it turned out to be an all-girls litter, so a quick change of plans and we were the happy owners of Papu. As we did not have a suitable home lined up, we took up on Sanna's offer to let Papu stay in her home kennel. Papu went Best Puppy in Breed at her first show, and got a second place & prize of honour in a large bitch puppy class at WDS 2014. In March 2016, Papu had a litter of three under my kennel name, and her daughter Nuttu has carried on the line by having a litter in March 2019. Unfortunately Papu had to be spayed because of an infection caused by a dead puppy next time she was mated.
